The Seed / Altar for the Seed

22K GOLD, WOOD, STONE, GLASS, 42 × 24.5 × 15 CM, 2024

This mixed-media work combines jewellery (The Seed) with an architectural sculptural form (Altar for the Seed). It was conceived as a reflection on the protection of natural rivers, wild landscapes and biodiversity. The element, crafted entirely in 22-carat gold, was created with reference to the Sumerian Tree of Life.

The object was realised as part of the artistic project FLOW/PRZEPŁYW, curated by artists Agnieszka Brzeżańska and Ewa Ciepielewska, and was presented at the group exhibition FLOW/PRZEPŁYW at Galeria EL in Elbląg from 4 July to 8 September 2024 (curators: Brzeżańska, Ciepielewska, Emilia Orzechowska).

The work is currently held in the collection of the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź.
