STERLING SILVER, 2024

This silver pendant, shaped as an ornamental bow, takes direct inspiration from an eighteenth-century portrait of Karen Lind Kahrs by Matthias Blumenthal, depicting the wife of one of the leading goldsmiths active in Bergen, Norway. The artist portrayed her wearing an elaborately decorated necklace; the pendant reinterprets this motif in a three-dimensional, contemporary form while preserving its Rococo character.
