Gold Necklace

22K GOLD, 2025

This necklace, crafted in 22-carat gold, was made using the loop-in-loop technique. The method involves the sequential interlacing of gold links, resulting in a compact, durable yet flexible structure with a characteristic herringbone pattern.

The loop-in-loop technique has a long and well-documented history. Its earliest examples are known from the Near East as early as the third millennium BCE and also appear in artefacts from Ancient Egypt and Crete. During the early Middle Ages, the form was further developed and continued in Northern Europe.

The project represents a continuation of a centuries-old goldsmithing tradition and constitutes a conscious effort to sustain it.
