Love Token

The pendant design is based on an illustration from Emblematum Sacrorum, a treatise by Daniel Cramer published in 1624. Hermetic treatises combining image, motto and moral commentary fulfilled didactic and ethical functions within early modern intellectual circles, encouraging reflection on the order of the world and spirituality. The pendant interprets the motif of the blooming heart through the language of contemporary jewellery, preserving its original allegorical meaning.

The work forms part of the collection of the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź.
