The ring draws inspiration from Renaissance jewellery, in which proportion, symmetry and compositional harmony played a central role. In rings of this period—particularly during the Late Renaissance—diamonds were often used to articulate the structure of the object. The black colour of the diamond, relatively rare in historic jewellery, underscores the clarity of the design, privileging geometry over ornament.
